3 Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 9 3/4" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Lobby Cards (Learn More)

The Bright Shawl, the 1923 John S. Robertson silent Cuba romantic love triangle melodrama (about a young American who goes to Cuba to help them win independence from Spain, but he gets involved with his friend's sister) starring Richard Barthelmess, Dorothy Gish (billed as "Miss Dorothy Gish"), Jetta Goudal, William Powell, Mary Astor (16 years old, and in one of her earlier roles with billing!), Edward G. Robinson (in his second movie appearance!), and Margaret Seddon. Note that Edward G. Robinson appeared in two movies before 1929. This one in 1923, and one in 1916. But he was basically a stage actor until movies added sound, and then he was lured away from Broadway to Hollywood, and he never left!

Important Added Info: Note that these lobby cards measure 8" x 9 3/4" [20 x 25 cm], but they have not been trimmed. Also note that, in the early days of movie making, when lobby cards were first made (around 1915), studios would issue sets of the cards in two sizes; the regular 11" x 14" size, and a smaller 8" x 10" size. The cards were identical in every way except for the different size. This practice continued through the early 1920s, at which point the studios abandoned the smaller lobby cards, likely because theaters either ordered 11" x 14" lobby cards or 8" x 10" stills, and did not order enough of the 8" x 10" lobby cards to justify them continuing to make them. We have NEVER auctioned any 8x10 lobby cards for this movie before and have ONLY auctioned one full size lobby card for the movie ever!

Condition: good to very good. Each has a few tiny brown dot stains scattered in various areas and some slight discoloration at lower left due to exposure to moisture (see our images). They are otherwise in generally nice condition.
