Forty by Sixty Movie Poster (40x60; measures 40" x 60") (Learn More) Stars Over Broadway, the 1935 William Keighley New York City stage acting radio singing romantic musical ("The star-studded hit of 1936!"; about a promoter who sees a singing porter at a hotel, and signs him to a contract; he becomes a successful singer, but then he becomes an alcoholic) starring Pat O'Brien, Jane Froman, James Melton, Jean Muir, Frank McHugh, and Phil Regan. James Melton was a Metropolitan Opera singer who was very popular on radio in the late 1920s and early 1930s, and he also made a few movies and several television appearances. He has two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! Of course, Jane Froman was the singer/actress whose story was told in the Susan Hayward movie "With a Song in My Heart"! Important Added Info: Note that this is one of the special 40x60 posters that were created by the Meloy Bros. Inc company of Shelbyville, Indiana in 1935 and 1936! This company created special 40x60 posters that were distributed to theaters in the Midwest, and are NOT like 40x60 posters that were created by the studios at that time. VERY IMPORTANT! There is surface paper loss and tiny paper loss around the edges of the poster (more so in the corners), and the poster is "lifting" from the board in the corners. There are creases and scuffs scattered throughout the poster, more so in the solid background areas, but there ARE some in the stars' faces (study our super-sized image to see exactly what they are, but they are not very distracting). There are also some other scuffs and smudges throughout the image and some dents and tiny areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster (please study our super-sized image to clearly see the above described defects). Certainly, a talented restorer could perform restoration to this poster, after which the defects would not be very noticeable at all. Learn More about condition grades
