Mong, Phyllis Haver, "And a Superb Cast". Note that the world premiere program for this movie mentions that "18 of the 40 men now alive who went into Belleau Woods during the famous battle appear in the movie". It also mentions that "85% of the men playing soldiers in this movie are actual war veterans who fought overseas" and that "every gun, cannon, grenade and other implement of war used" in the movie were actually used in World War I! Also note that John Ford remade this movie in 1952, with James Cagney in the lead role. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: SUPER IMPORTANT! THIS LOT CONTAINS 9 STILLS, BUT ONLY EIGHT OF THE STILLS ARE PICTURED! THE HIGH BIDDER ON THIS LOT WILL RECEIVE 9 STILLS FROM THIS MOVIE, and NOT just the eight pictured! We realize there is an element of gambling to this, but we made only a small effort to find the best eight stills in these lots, and, if you have any willingness to gamble at all, you may find that you get some great stills that were not pictured! Please do NOT bid on this lot unless you can accept that you are only seeing eight of the stills. Note that on our larger lots of black and white stills (usually ones with nine or more in the lot), there are a small number of lots where there may be one or several duplicated stills in the stills not pictured (we only picture eight of the stills on most of the black and white lots). We tried to note when some of the stills not pictured were duplicates to the ones that were pictured, but we may not have caught that every time, so please do not bid on the lots of nine or more stills unless you can accept the possibility that there may be some duplicated stills contained in the lot (there also may be a very few of the lots with eight or less stills that have a duplicate in them, but that is far less likely and you could see them in our photo). Condition: good to very good. There are punch holes in some of the borders of the stills and some of the stills have imperfections in the emulsion and some scuffs and uneven discoloration throughout.
