An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) The Lady Vanishes, the classic 1938 Alfred Hitchcock English mistaken identity romantic mystery crime kidnapping thriller ("From the story 'The Wheel Spins' by Ethel Lina White"; about a young woman on a train who becomes friendly with a fellow passenger, but then the passenger disappears without the train stopping, and no one believes the young woman, not even the two people on her side, or are they?) starring Margaret Lockwood, Michael Redgrave, Paul Lukas, Dame May Whitty (in a memorable role, as "Miss Froy"), Cecil Parker, Linden Travers, Googie Withers, Naunton Wayne, and Basil Radford NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: very good. the poster had tiny holes at each crossfold; many years ago, someone put a tiny piece of paper behind each crossfold and then taped it in place from front and back with clear tape, first coloring the paper to match the missing tiny area; there was a 1/2" x 1" semi-circular area of paper loss in the lower part of the right blank border and the same person taped a piece of paper to the back of the poster and then taped it to the front with clear tape; there are three pieces of clear tape placed horizontally in the top edge of the top blank border and two pieces of clear tape (one 2" and one 3") at the left and right ends of the bottom of the image (these were placed vertically so that the one of the left extends 1" into the image and the one on the right extends 2" into the image). Sad to say, these five pieces of tape were used to hold the poster to the wall! There is tiny paper loss in the top left corner and tinier paper loss in the upper part of the right blank border; there was a tear in the "U" of "LUKAS" in the bottom credits area, and tape was put behind it; there was 4" of tape placed on the back of the middle foldline to the right of the center fold. The poster is in much better condition than the above makes it sound! Its defects are basically minor (although the attempted restoration did not make them better!). Any talented restorer can certainly reverse the amateur restoration, and repair the poster's minor defects, and the end result would be a poster that looks fantastic, and truly has little restoration anywhere on it!
