An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Half-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 22" x 28") (Learn More) A Streetcar Named Desire, the classic 1951 Elia Kazan (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) family relationship romantic melodrama ("...When she got there she met the brute Stan, and the side of New Orleans she hardly knew existed... Blanche, who wanted so much to stay a lady..."; "One of the scenes that make it so great!"; "Warner Bros. bring the screen all the fire of 'A Streetcar Named Desire'"; "Brando the original!"; "Brando the electrifying!"; "Brando the sensual!"; "In the role that made him legend!"; "Based upon the original play 'A Streetcar Named Desire' by Tennessee Williams as presented on the stage by Irene Mayer Selznick"; "From the Pulitzer Prize and Critics Award Play"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Vivien Leigh (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; as Blanche DuBois), Marlon Brando (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; as Stanley Kowalski; "Stan... mean, coarse, violent - and magnificent!"), Kim Hunter (winner of the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film; as Stella Kowalski; "Stella... who took a lot because she loved a lot!"), Karl Malden (winner of the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film; as Mitch; "Mitch... he fell for a wrong woman - and fell all the way down!"), Rudy Bond, and Nick Dennis NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a rarely seen poster! It has a completely different image from that of the other sizes, and it has cool descriptions of each of the characters! Condition: good to very good. The poster was folded down the center and there are three horizontal folds (one across the center, and the other two 3" above and below the center fold). There was a 10" tear in the top left of the poster, mostly in the white background area, but extending into the "N" of "WARNER". There were tears, creases, and smudges around the edges of the poster, and rough creases across the center of the poster, but not that many creases in the rest of the image. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, and the above defects are slightly noticeable, but not very distracting. Note that there is a fair amount of paint restoration and replacement paper in the solid white areas of the poster, but it is well done, and not distracting, and I think many people would not realize it if it were not pointed out to them. It does not give the poster a heavily restored feel at all, and there is little paint restoration in the actual image area. Learn More about condition grades
