Somerset Maugham; the old story of the wife of a pilot who falls in love with his best friend, and they are both too decent to do anything about it, so the husband volunteers for a suicide mission so that the lovers can be together!) starring Kay Francis, Errol Flynn, Ian Hunter, Frieda Inescort, Herbert Mundin, and G.P. Huntley NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: This Argentinean poster measures approximately 29" x 43" and is linenbacked. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the restorer did a good job, but you can see signs of the restoration from inches away (since most people look at posters framed on a wall from at least a few feet away, we don't feel this is a defect, but we feel it should be noted). OR you can't see the restoration because it was so well done, but the poster had fairly significant defects. OR no restoration was performed, but the defects are not major, and restoration could be done to the poster without re-backing it. See below for its pre-restoration defects (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). poster has tiny holes at the crossfolds and minor smudges and creases throughout, as well as some tiny tears on some foldlines. there are border defects, including pinholes in the corners. The poster is well linenbacked but the person who did so pretty much just mounted the poster and left the minor defects alone. They are not very noticeable or distracting, but if they bother the new owner of the poster, a talented restorer could touch them up without rebacking the poster. Learn More about condition grades
