An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 13 7/8" [28 x 35 cm]) (Learn More)

Sweetheart of Sigma Chi, the 1933 Edwin L. Marin college university sorority fraternity romantic musical ("A College Romance That's Alive With Youth!"; the girl who every boy on campus wants finds that the star athlete has no time for girls, so naturally, he is the one she wants, but he is not interested, at least at first) starring Mary Carlisle, Buster Crabbe, Charles Starrett, Florence Lake, Eddie Tamblyn, Sally Starr, Ted Fio-Rito & His Orchestra, Leif Erickson (in his first role), and Betty Grable (in an early role)

Important Added Info: Note that there is an oddity to the lobby cards from this movie. Some of them have a circular Monogram logo in a bottom corner, and some do not. The ones that don't have have a different coloring in the background of the Monogram credit in the life preserver. They seem to clearly be from two different printings, but whether one predates the other or not, we can't say, although we have generally seen the circular Monogram logo only on lobby cards from the late 1930s, so we think it is possible that signifies a re-release. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Note that this lobby card has been extremely slightly trimmed on the left blank border and it now measures 11" x 13 7/8" [28 x 35 cm]. Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: good. Approximately 1/8" was neatly trimmed from the left blank border and there is light water staining in the bottom 1" of the card, but it is not as noticeable from the front (see our images). This is the sort of card that responds really well to professional restoration. It is likely that much or all of the smudges and stains can be removed through chemical means (and the tiny bit of the left blank border could be replaced), after which the card will look fantastic. Please look at our super-sized images to get a good sense of the exact condition of this card before placing a bid. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back!
