5 Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" Movie Stills (Learn More)

Seven Faces, the 1929 Berthold Viertel romantic melodrama (based on the short story 'A Friend of Napoleon' by Richard Connell; Muni plays the elderly caretaker of a wax museum in Paris, and the museum goes broke and they auction off the wax figures, and Muni is so in love with the Napoleon figure that he steals it and is discovered and tried for the crime; the most interesting part of the movie is an extended dream sequence, where Muni plays the part of six of the museum's wax figures, Napoleon, Don Juan, Svengali, Franz Schubert; Diablero, Willie Smith [a black African American], and Joe Gans [a boxer]) starring Paul Muni, Marguerite Churchill, Lester Lonergan, Russell Gleason and Gustav von Seyffertitz. Note that Muni was 33 years old when this movie (his second ever) was made, but he had specialized in playing old men in the theater, and this entire movie was a chance for him to show off his amazing acting and make up skills. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.

Condition: good to very good. We are selling thousands of stills this week, and we can't give detailed descriptions of every one. However, we have linked the small image below to a much larger image that should allow you to get an excellent idea of the still(s) defects (if any). Please realize that these are original vintage stills (most many decades old), and they will have defects typical of decades old photos. The still(s) in this lot have the following general defects (please also look at the larger image by clicking on the image below): border defects including a pair of punch holes as well as some areas of discoloration, creases, minor scuffs and smudges throughout the stills
