An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Mexican Movie Poster (measures 27 1/2" x 37 1/4" [70 x 95 cm]) (Learn More) Mulata (literally translates to "Mulatto"), the 1954 (released in the U.S. in 1955) Gilberto Martinez Solares Mexican mixed race prostitution melodrama (about the half black daughter of Cuban slaves, who is taken from Cuba to Mexico, where she is forced into prostitution, and she becomes a performer in an exotic nightclub, and she meets a man who may help her out of her situation) starring Pedro Armendariz, Ninon Sevilla, Rene Cardona, Jorge Mondragon, Guillermo Hernandez, Hector Mateos, and Jose Munoz Artist: Josep Renau Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned two examples of this poster, which is a "country of origin" poster for this Mexican movie. It certainly has art that would never have been allowed in U.S. posters of this time! Note also that this is one of 17 Mexican posters we are currently auctioning (in 17 separate auctions). All are unbacked and unrestored and they include some nice titles. We have auctioned a lot of linenbacked Mexican posters in the past year, but for those who prefer them unbacked, this is a great opportunity to purchase unbacked Mexican posters (and our consignor does not have any more, so this is your only chance, until we are sent others from different consignors). Note also that this is a "country of origin" poster for this Mexican movie! Condition: fair to good. The poster has paper loss at the middle crossfold and separation and tiny tears on parts of several folds. It is in urgent need of linenbacking, but afterwards it will display well.
