An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Two-Sided Japanese Press Sheet Movie Poster (14x20; measures 9 1/2" x 20 1/2" [24 x 52 cm]) (Learn More)

La Chatte (released in the U.S. in 1959 as "The Cat"), the 1958 Henri Decoin French World War II (WWII) romantic military suspense melodrama ("based upon the novel by Jacques Remy") starring Francoise Arnoul, Bernhard Wicki (billed as "Bernard Wicki"), Roger Hanin, Kurt Meisel, Harold Wolff (billed as "Harold Wolf"), Andre Versini, and Bernard Blier. Note that this movie was given a U.S. "arthouse" release by "Essex Universal", likely in 1959. That was a very limited release, and the only movie paper we have seen from it are duotone lobby cards, and the one-sheet from that release may have been duotone as well. In the early 1960s, this movie was released in the U.S. by MGM as part of a huge trade package with European distributors, and MGM printed full-color posters and lobby cards, with the new title of "The Face of the Cat". Those MGM posters and lobby cards are technically re-releases, but they are from the first wide U.S. release of this movie.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: We have provided an image of each side of the press sheet. Note that this Japanese press sheet measures 9 1/2" x 20 1/2" [24 x 52 cm]. Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.
