An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Forty by Sixty Movie Poster (40x60; measures 40" x 60" [102 x 152 cm]) (Learn More)

Big Thanksgiving Day Show 1957, the 1957 holiday poster featuring colorful art of a Native American Indian dragging a dead turkey past a surprised pilgrim. Posters like these were ordered by many theaters prior to the major holidays, and displayed in their lobbies, but surely the vast majority of them were taken down and discarded as soon as the holiday was over, and they are extremely rare. If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that we have previously auctioned a similar 40x60 Thanksgiving poster from 1956 but that one had a completely different image, and we have never auctioned THIS poster before. Note that this 40x60 is a silkscreen printed poster. This is how almost all 30x40s and 40x60s were made at this time! Paper banners were also commonly made in this way at that time, and it makes for a striking poster. Note that silkscreen posters usually pick up scuff marks far more easily than other posters of this period (this was caused by the method of silkscreen printing, and is very common on these posters, and is not considered a major defect, unless it is very noticeable or distracting).

Condition: good. The poster has many creases and scuffs scattered throughout, more so around the edges, and less than many similar 40x60s we have seen. It has many creases and a few tiny tears around the edges. There is staining on the back of part of the bottom, but it does not show through to the front.
