An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Stage Play Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) The Tide of Life, the circa 1900s Edward Weitzel stage play production ("The realistic drama"; "'Burn damn you! Burn!!'"; "by Edward Weitzel"). This poster features wild art of an enraged man watching an unconscious man and bound woman in a burning building. We could find no information about this specific play, but Weitzel directed other plays in the very early 1900s, and this poster seems to surely date from 1900 to 1910. If anyone knows more about this play or poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had extra horizontal folds above and below the regular three horizontal folds. There were creases, tiny tears, and tiny bits of paper loss on parts of many foldlines and some stains and tears around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was backed onto a thin linen with very little restoration, and with no excess linen around the edges.
