An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Style B Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22") (Learn More) O'Malley of the Mounted, the 1921 Lambert Hillyer silent Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) crime melodrama ("A big story of the Northwest"; "A William S. Hart Production"; about a Mountie who infiltrates a gang, but then he falls in love with the gang leader's sister, and then the gang discovers his true identity) starring William S. Hart (in the title role as Sergeant O'Malley; he also wrote the story and produced the movie!), Eva Novak, Leo Willis, Alfred Allen, and Bert Sprotte NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the poster was backed onto a paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. Condition: very good. The poster was never folded. It had approximately 2" of the blank top trimmed off and pinholes, creases, tears, and some small areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster. There was an 8" horizontal tear in the lower right border, extending into Hart's upper arm and his chest, and some minor smudges and stains scattered in the image. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to paperbacking. The poster was really expertly backed, and displays well, and does not have a "heavily restored" look at all!
