An Original Vintage 7 3/4" x 7 3/4" [20 x 20 cm] English Still (Learn More) Alexander Korda was an Austro-Hungarian director and producer from the 1910s to the 1940s. Along with his brothers Vincent and Zoltan, Korda produced some of the great movies of the 1930s and 1940s, including The Thief of Bagdad, Jungle Book, The Third Man, That Hamilton Woman, The Private Life of Henry VIII, and Marius. He passed away in 1956 at the age of 62. AND J. Arthur Rank was a British industrialist who was head and founder of the Rank Organisation. When some early films that he was involved with didn't get enough circulation, he realized that control of cinemas was the key to success, and by 1942 the Rank Organisation owned 619 cinemas. During the 1940s, the companies Rank controlled produced some of the finest British films of the period, including: The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp, Henry V, A Matter of Life and Death, Black Narcissus, and The Red Shoes. Rank passed away in 1972 at the age of 83. Important Added Info: Note that this English still measures 7 3/4" x 7 3/4" [20 x 20 cm], but it has not been trimmed. Condition: very good.
