Date Sold 3/10/2016 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 2 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Chain Lightning, the 1927 Lambert Hillyer silent romantic cowboy western ("A Blue Streak of Action" "Story by Charles Alden Seltzer"; about a cowboy who has his herd of purebred horses stolen, and he must track down the rustlers who stole them, with the help of a pretty blonde) starring Buck Jones, Dione Ellis, Ted McNamara, Jack Baston, and William Welsh. Note that this movie was a remake of an earlier Fox movie starring William Farnum, and that female lead Diane Ellis (apparently she was billed as "Dione" to make her seem more exotic) went on her honeymoon in India in 1930 and caught a tropical disease and died, thus ending her promising career! Also note that Buck Jones' white horse was named Silver (just like The Lone Ranger's later on!), and Silver made 73 movies with Buck Jones from 1922 until Jones' death in 1942 in the tragic Cocoanut Grove fire. But oddly, Silver was almost never billed on the posters for Buck Jones' movies as so many other famous horses (most especially Tom Mix's Tony) were!
