Mr. Sanders was a nationally recognized projectionist, film poster collector, and union activist who passed away earlier this year, and the net proceeds from the sale of his varied and eclectic collection will be donated to promote film studies at the Besant School of Happy Valley in Ojai, Ca. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and minor fold and border wear. It had an NSS stamp on the back of the poster that bled through to the front in between the "C" and "a" of "Carrie" in the title, and there were some marks in that area that also bled through to the front. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Certainly, any restorer could touch up the bleed-through described above without re-backing the poster, but please read the above carefully before placing a bid. Learn More about condition grades
