Date Sold 8/16/2015Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. a lot of 45 Swiss 8" x 10 1/4" stills from Det Sjunde Inseglet (released in the U.S. in 1958 as "The Seventh Seal"). There is a bit of a mystery to these stills! They were found in a Swiss archive together with a lot of 1950s and 1960s stills, and they have excellent printing quality. But they have no markings on the front or back, and they measure 8" x 10 1/4". So we can't say for certain that they are Swiss, because they could be from a different country, even the U.S., although we would more likely expect white border and still code numbers on U.S. stills. We don't think they are Swedish stills, because they don't have the "SF" logo found on the Swedish stills from this period. They certainly may well be Swiss, and they would seem to be quite likely from the first Swiss release, but we can't say for certain. Of crouse, The Seventh Seal is the classic 1957 Ingmar Bergman Swedish fantasy medieval plague metaphysical meaning-of-life-and-death melodrama ("One of the greatest and most powerful European films in a quarter of a century"; "The Story of a Challenge to Death") starring Max von Sydow, Bengt Ekerot (as Death), Gunnar Bjornstrand, Nils Poppe, Bibi Andersson, Inga Gill, and Ake Fridell Measurements: 8" x 10 1/4"Condition: very good to fine. The stills have extremely minor border wear. Learn More about condition grades Titles included:
