An Initialed Contract Rider (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm]) (Learn More) Petrified Forest, the 1955 Delbert Mann made-for-TV melodrama (an installment from the "Producer's Showcase" television series) starring Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, Dick Elliott, Henry Fonda, and Paul Hartman. Note that this is a completely forgotten TV series, but some of the episodes are extremely interesting historically, especially this episode, which had Bogart and Bacall redoing Bogart's first giant hit, "The Petrified Forest", which had brought him back to Hollywood after he had seemingly failed there! This was 18 years after Bogart had first made the movie, and of course, his wife Lauren Bacall took the role that Bette Davis had played in the 1937 film version. Important Added Info: Note that this contract rider has been personally initialed by BOTH Humphrey Bogart AND Lauren Bacall (it was created when these two legendary stars did the television version of this classic 1936 movie, and it related to the screen credited they would receive). They were performing with Henry Fonda, and the contract called for none of them to have larger billing than the other two, and also for none of the three of them to have billing smaller than the title! Since this was likely an addendum page to the original contract, the stars initialed it and did not sign it. The initialed contract rider was submitted to PSA/DNA, who certified it with a certificate of authenticity. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction.
