Texaco Star Theater, which was a comedy-variety show, broadcast on radio from 1938 to 1949 and on television from 1948 to 1956. The show was hosted by Fred Allen from 1940 to 1944 and it may be best remembered as the show that gave Milton Berle the nickname "Mr. Television". Some of the other hosts include: James Melton, Tony Martin, and Gordon MacRae
