An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More) Inspiration (released in some countries as "Yvonne"), the 1931 Clarence Brown Paris model romantic prostitution melodrama ("A Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer All Talking Picture"; based on the novel 'Sapho' by Alphonse Daudet; about a French streetwalker who finds true love with a handsome young man, but she leaves him because of her past, and then she returns to him, but he learns about her past and leaves her, and that makes him afraid she will kill herself, and he returns to her, but then she leaves him again!) starring Greta Garbo, Robert Montgomery, Lewis Stone, Marjorie Rambeau, and Judith Vosselli. Note that there was a French language version of this movie filmed simultaneously, but with a different cast (with Mary Marquet in the lead role), but that movie was made during the time MGM and Pathe had a co-production deal, and it fell apart at exactly this time, and Pathe sued MGM over this film and won, so it was not released until 1934, three years after it was made. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: good. There is a small circular area of image loss at the beginning of the title and also in the top left corner. Otherwise, the slide is in pretty nice condition!
