Eisenstein Russian silent Petrograd Bolshevik revolution historical melodrama (about the 1915 October Russian Revolution; Eisenstein was chosen to make this official government version of the revolution after he had made the classic "Battleship Potemkin" three years earlier) starring Vladimir Popov, Vasili Nikandrov (as Lenin), Layaschenko, Chibisov, and Boris Livanov
