Date Sold 12/22/2013Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Autographed Index Card in Matted Display (measures 11" X 14") (Learn More) Julie Newmar (born Julia Chalene Newmeyer) is an actress from the 1950s to the 2010s. She is perhaps best remembered as Stupefyin' Jones in "Li'l Abner" and Catwoman in TV's "Batman". She also appeared as Eleen in the original Star Trek TV series (in the "Friday's Child" episode). Some of her other movies include: The Band Wagon, Seven Brides For Seven Brothers, and For Love or Money. As of 2021, she is still alive at the age of 87! Important Added Info: Note that item is a cut album page that has been personally autographed (signed) by Julie Newmar. The person intended to mat it with a REPRO 8x10 of Miss Newmar, but he mistook a photo of Elke Sommer for Julie Newmar, so it has matted with the wrong picture (it would be easy to open up the mat and substitute an actual picture of Miss Newmar). Our consignor obtained Miss Newmar's signature in person at a collectibles show, and he then had it shrink-wrapped (but with the wrong photo, as noted above). Also note that the REPRO contains an unclothed woman, so we have placed a white bar over that area, for those who are bothered by such images. Of course, the actual REPRO does not have that white bar! Note that this item was consigned to us by a man who (together with his wife) has been a collector and dealer in autographs for decades! Over those years they obtained a huge number of autographed items through the mail, and they also attended events where they could obtain autographs in person, and they also set up as dealers at collectible shows, where they would buy autographs and sell and trade some of their own. Over the years, they developed friendships with some of the celebrities they obtained autographs from, sometimes acquiring memorabilia of a particular celebrity that they would send to them as a gift, as a thank you for you the many autographs they obtained (in many cases, the items are personalized to either our consignor, or to his wife, or to both of them). If we know any information about how this specific item was obtained, it is written above. But in general, we feel it is quite likely that the autograph on this item is authentic, but our consignor does not have a certificate of authenticity. Condition: very good to fine. The matted display is in nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
