The San Francisco Story, the 1952 Robert Parrish California western gambling sailors-miners-politicians-crusading-newspaperman melodrama ("Between the Sea and the Sierras Stood the Sin-Strewn Gateway to Gold!"; "Lady, I got a feeling you're trying to bribe me!"; "Excitingly presented by Warner Bros."; "From Warner Bros. comes the sweeping story of the iron-nerved men whose naked courage forged the City on the Hill!"; "Based on the novel by Richard Summers"; "Screen play by D. D. Beauchamp"; set in the California Gold Rush of the 1850s) starring Joel McCrea, Yvonne De Carlo, Sidney Blackmer, Richard Erdman, and Florence Bates

Important Added Info: Note that this still measures 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm]. Also note that this still appears in every way to be original U.S. release EXCEPT that there is one very tiny line of French type in the lower right. It reads, "IMPRIME AUX ETATS-UNIS D'AMERIQUE". A collector has told us that he believes this means the still was printed for use in areas that included French-speaking parts of Canada, but that it WAS printed in the U.S., and that makes complete sense to us (and we have seen this on stills from the 1940s through the early 2000s, so it has certainly been done for an extremely long time)! So it is an original still from 1952, but it was printed partially for use in French-speaking Canada. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
