He also appeared in several movies such as The Great Bank Hoax, and 4 for Texas, however, he is best remembered as the host of the television (TV) variety series "The Arthur Godfrey Show". He was one of the most powerful men in TV in the 1950s, and he did not like others sharing in his success, and he is legendary for firing singer Julius LaRosa ON AIR, telling him that he needed to get some humility! He passed away in 1983 at the age of 79. Important Added Info: Note that this card has been personally autographed (signed) by Arthur Godfrey! It is matted with a tiny photo of the star to create a display that is ready to frame and hang on your wall (the signed card is held to the mat with hinges only, so it could be easily removed, and displayed in a different way). Also note that he envelope the autographed was originally mailed in is glued to the back of the display. Our consignor is a longtime dealer who acquired this signed item among many other purchases in his inventory, and he does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to likely be authentic.
