An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) Joy of Living, the 1938 Tay Garnett New York City Broadway theater stage acting romantic musical comedy ("Music by Jerome Kern"; "Lyrics by Dorothy Fields"; "Based on an Original Story by Dorothy and Herbert Fields"; about a Broadway star who supports a bunch of sponging relatives, and she meets a sea captain who wants her to retire and live with him on a South Seas island, and after she gets drunk, she marries him and goes away, but she soon misses her prior life, and she returns to it; but at the end, she realizes she belongs with her husband on that island, and she runs to his ship to sail away with him!) starring Irene Dunne, Douglas Fairbanks Jr., Alice Brady, Guy Kibbee, Jean Dixon, Eric Blore, Lucille Ball, and Warren Hymer. Note that this is an almost completely forgotten 1930s musical with great music by Jerome Kern. Its plot is incredibly familiar, and it borrows heavily from many classic movies of the 1930s! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: fair to good. There are a few small tears and tiny areas of paper loss in the borders and some faint smudges scattered through the image, including in the stars' faces. The card had creases, smudges, faint stains and some pinholes around the edges of the poster. There were ink stains in the upper right of the image, extending down into Fairbanks' hair and forehead. Someone glued the card to a stiff board (it appears to be dry-mounted) and did slight touch up to the borders, but not to the image. Learn More about condition grades
