DeMille Malaya tropical island romantic love triangle adventure thriller (about a cruise ship where Bubonic plague breaks out and four people leave the ship in a tiny boat and make it to a desert island, where they have many adventures and where the two men fight over the beautiful young schoolteacher who is with them) starring Claudette Colbert, Herbert Marshall, Mary Boland, William Gargan, and Leo Carrillo NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this half-sheet! Also note that this poster has never been machine folded! Some pre-1970 half-sheet posters were machine folded twice horizontally at the poster exchange, while some were not. It can be difficult to find an unfolded example of many pre-1970 half-sheet posters (note that most post-1970 half-sheets were NOT machine folded, so they are pretty much only found unfolded, and therefore this does not apply to those half-sheets). Condition: good. The poster was never folded. It has faint stains in Colbert's chin, and in her nose, with two small stains in her neck. There were also stains in Marshall's nose, with horizontal creases in Colbert's cheek. It has a tear in the bottom left corner that separated that blank corner, and a tear in the left border above it. It has surface paper loss in the top left blank corner and some smudges in the borders and white background areas. It appears that someone performed slight amateur restoration to the above stains, but they are still clearly noticeable. Please look closely at our super-sized image and decide how important that staining is (and consider the cost of restoration before bidding on this cool and rare poster).
