An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Three-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 41" x 81") (Learn More)

Silk Stockings, the 1957 Rouben Mamoulian romantic love triangle musical comedy ("Suggested by 'Ninotchka' by Melchior Lengyel"; with "Music and Lyrics by Cole Porter"; "Big, Bouncy and Beautiful on the Big Screen!"; "It's got that hot beat in top-hat and tails.... 'The Ritz Roll and Rock'"; "The song sensation that's all excitement and enticement... 'Satin and Silk'"; "The gay life in the city of romance sun in 'Paris Loves Lovers'"; "High jinx and hilarity set to Russky rhythm in 'Hail Bibinski' and more"; "Book of Original Musical Play by George S. Kaufman") starring Fred Astaire, Cyd Charisse, Janis Paige, Peter Lorre, Jules Munshin, George Tobias, and Joseph Buloff. Note that there had been a non-musical version of this story under the title "Ninotchka" in the 1930s with Greta Garbo in the lead role.

Important Added Info: This three-sheet was printed in 2 sections.

Condition: very good. The poster had creases, a few tiny tears, and some separation on some foldlines. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was backed pretty well, but the restorer did not touch up the minor defects described above. Note that the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster. Also note that, at some point after the poster was linenbacked, varying amounts of the right border of the poster received water staining, but it is on the back of the linen only, and does not affect the front.
