An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Sheet Music (measures 9 1/2" x 11 3/4" [24 x 30 cm]; 2 pages) (Learn More)

Hearts of Oak, the 1924 John Ford silent romantic love triangle melodrama ("James A. Herne's famous melodrama of New England and the Frozen North"; about an elderly New England seaman who is in love with a much younger woman, but she prefers her young boyfriend, and the seaman sacrifices his own life so that the two can be together) starring Hobart Bosworth, Pauline Starke, Theodore Von Eltz, James Gordon, and Francis Powers. Note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
Important Added Info: Note that this is a "Cue Sheet", which is sheet music that was distributed to silent theaters that solely had a single piano player, and that musician would use these 27 themes as "cues" from which to improvise the music they would play throughout the movie. Normally, cue sheets like this were found in the pressbook for the movie, and it is likely that this was removed from a pressbook. We have only pictured the front of the cue sheet, but the back has another 15 themes on it.

Condition: very good. The cue sheet is in nice condition, but as noted above, it was likely removed from a pressbook.
