An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Tailspin Tommy, the 1934 Lew Landers airplane aviation action crime melodrama serial ("12 Chapters of skyrocket action with thrills, spills, and stunts!"; "Based on the comic strip of the same name"; "From the cartoon strip by Hal Forrest"; "Your favorite cartoon hero comes to life on the screen!") starring Maurice Murphy (in the title role as Tailspin Tommy Tompkins), Noah Beery Jr., Patricia Farr, Walter Miller, Grant Withers, and Dennis Moore. Note that star Maurice Murphy made dozens of minor movie appearances, mostly uncredited, but he had his big chance at stardom with the starring role in this movie, but unfortunately, it didn't lead to much of anything. He quit the movies in 1945 at the age of 32, and he lived until 1978 when he passed away at the age of 65. He had a brother, Jack Murphy, who also appeared in mostly uncredited roles.
