An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Domestic One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

Mart Crowley's Boys in the Band, the classic 1970 William Friedkin New York City homosexual gay romantic relationship melodrama ("Today is Harold's birthday. This is his present."; "'The Boys in the Band' ...is not a musical."; written and produced by Mart Crowley from his own play, with all the actors from the stage reprising their roles for the screen!) starring Kenneth Nelson (as Michael), Peter White (as Alan), Leonard Frey (as Harold), Cliff Gorman (as Emory), Frederick Combs (as Donald), Laurence Luckinbill (as Hank), Keith Prentice (as Larry), Robert La Tourneaux (as Cowboy), Reuben Greene (as Bernard), and Maud Adams (uncredited in her first movie role as a model!). Note that this was a groundbreaking movie. After the great success of the play version of this, Hollywood decided it was time to make an "honest" movie depicting homosexuality as it really was, and they hired the stage actors to play the same parts in the film, and the script was pretty much the same. They very fortunately hired young director William Friedkin for this movie, and his next movie was The French Connection, followed by The Exorcist, two of the greatest hits of the 1970s! Also note that five of the actors in this film (Nelson, Frey, Prentice, Combs, and Tourneaux) all sadly passed away in the AIDS epidemic in the 1980s and 1990s.
