Date Sold 10/22/2019Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Framed Display (measures 16 1/2" x 20 1/2" [42 x 52 cm]; contains FIVE autographed cut album pages) (Learn More) The Rat Pack was the nickname of a legendary close-knit group of actors in the early 1960s, who "hung out" together in Las Vegas and Hollywood, and they were comprised of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, and Joey Bishop. Some of them appeared in movies with one or more of the others, but the only movie that they all appeared in was Ocean's Eleven, the classic 1960 Lewis Milestone Rat Pack Las Vegas Nevada multi-million-dollar multi-casino hold-up gambling crime caper thriller ("That Big One!!"; "Nobody else would have dared it because nobody else would have the nerve!"; "You wouldn't call it a gang. Just Danny Ocean and his 11 pals - the night they blew all the lights in Las Vegas!..."; about 11 Army veterans joining together to rob five Las Vegas casinos at once!) starring Frank Sinatra (in the title role as Danny Ocean), Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford (the preceding were called "The Rat Pack" because they were real-life friends who socialized regularly), Angie Dickinson, Richard Conte, Cesar Romero, Patrice Wymore, Joey Bishop (who surprisingly was given very low billing, under that of Patrice Wymore!), Akim Tamiroff, Henry Silva, and "Guest Stars" Red Skelton, George Raft, and Ilka Chase Important Added Info: Note that this wonderful framed display includes FIVE personally autographed (signed) cut album pages, one each by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, AND Joey Bishop! The signed items were nicely matted with a color REPRODUCTION photo, as well as five playing cards from the Sands casino in Las Vegas. The entire display was nicely framed and is ready to hang on your wall! There is a certificate of authenticity from Piece of the Past attached to the back of the frame. Note that this comes from a wonderful collection that was assembled by a collector decades ago, mostly from RR Auctions, which has auctioned signed items since 1976. The person who purchased these items passed away several years ago, and while he did not save most of the certificates of authenticity he received when he bought these signed items, almost all were purchased between the late 1970s and the early 1990s, and we think it is extremely likely that the autograph on this item is genuine. In our last two auctions, we auctioned around 100 items from this same consignor, and we thought that was the very last of this wonderful collection, but our consignor discovered a few more items that had been missed, so we are auctioning those last ones in this set of auctions. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes. Condition: very good to fine. The display is framed and ready to be hung on the new owner's wall (and we bet it will get LOTS of comments from everyone who views it).
