Arolla, the 1960s Swiss travel poster encouraging people to visit the village of Arolla in Switzerland. Arolla is a village in the municipality of Evolene in the canton of Valais, and is situated at the foot of Mont Collon. It is a popular stop-off point on the Haute Route, a classic high-altitude mountain trek between Chamonix and Zermatt. The expedition can be tackled either by foot in the summer or by skis in the winter and spring. Note that this poster features art showing the region in both winter and summer conditions (allowing it to be displayed for whatever season is being promoted). If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
