Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) The Wasp Woman, the classic 1959 Roger Corman giant bug insect science fiction (sci-fi) thriller ("A beautiful woman by day - a lusting queen wasp by night!"; "See: Strong men forced to satisfy a passion no human knows!"; "See: A beautiful woman by day - a lusting queen wasp by night!"; "Written by Leo Gordon") starring Susan Cabot (in the title role as the wasp woman), Fred Eisley, Barboura Morris, William Roerick, and Michael Mark. Note that this movie was guilty of one of the most blatant cases of "false advertising" in an industry filled with unfulfilled promises! The posters and the title card for this movie shows a giant wasp with a woman's head, while the movie delivers a normal-sized woman with a really fake looking wasp head! Also, note that Susan Cabot had a very interesting life, as you can see by clicking on her biography link above. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this lobby card is part of an amazing collection of 132 horror/sci-fi lobby cards (our items #5040 through #5171). Included are 121 title cards from 1950 to 1964, including just about every horror/sci-fi movie made during that period, including all of the most famous titles! Also included is all seven scene cards from "The Day the Earth Stood Still", and a great scene card from "House of Wax". The collector who assembled this collection did so over a span of several decades, and to duplicate it would surely take at least that long, if one started today. But on October 30th, every one of these lobby cards will go to a new owner, as all are being sold with NO reserve. Also note that we have listed these lobby cards in strict alphabetical order. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to acquire rare lobby cards that almost never are offered for sale! Condition: very good. 1/4" of the left and right edges of the card have been trimmed; someone attempted to repair the minor trimming by taping (with clear tape) an entire second lobby card to the left and right edges of the card! (The second card is "The Case of Dr. Laurent" title card). A talented restorer could remove the clear tape (which is only in the edge of the background), separate the two cards, and replace the missing blank paper on "The Wasp Woman" title card, and the card would look very nice.
