An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) The Two Mrs. Carrolls, the 1947 Peter Godfrey romantic love triangle murder crime film noir ("Thrill after thrill after thrill!!"; "From the Stage Play by Martin Vale"; about a mentally unbalanced painter who, after painting his first wife as the Angel of Death kills her; he then tries to continue the cycle with his new wife!) starring Humphrey Bogart, Barbara Stanwyck (in the title role as Sally Morton Carroll), Alexis Smith, Nigel Bruce, Isobel Elsom, Patrick O'Moore, and Ann Carter NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this still measures 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm]. Also note that this still appears in every way to be original U.S. release EXCEPT that there is one very tiny line of French type in the lower right. It reads, "IMPRIME AUX ETATS-UNIS D'AMERIQUE". A collector has told us that he believes this means the still was printed for use in areas that included French-speaking parts of Canada, but that it WAS printed in the U.S., and that makes complete sense to us (and we have seen this on stills from the 1940s through the early 2000s, so it has certainly been done for an extremely long time)! So it is an original still from 1947, but it was printed partially for use in French-speaking Canada. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
