Date Sold 5/23/2006Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Window Card Movie Poster (measures 14" x 19 3/4") (Learn More) Adventures of Tarzan, the 1921 Robert F. Hill & Scott Sidney silent jungle adventure serial ("The mightiest of chapter plays..."; "Distributed by Adventures of Tarzan Serial Sales Corporation"; "The Wild Animal Serial Supreme"; "15 Electrifying Episodes"; "Picturized from the concluding chapters of 'The Return of Tarzan' by Edgar Rice Burroughs"; "Watch for it!"; "'The Tarzan of Tarzans'"; "Lions, elephants, crocodiles, leopards, apes, monkeys and a host of other jungle denizens. Scene after scene of thrill and excitement in each episode of 'Adventures of Tarzan.' The heroic Lincoln as Tarzan the Ape-Man is the central figure in a series of hair-breadth escapes and wonderful stunts which will keep you on the edge of your chair throughout the entire serial.") starring Elmo Lincoln (best remembered for being the very first actor to portray Tarzan in the movies in 1918), Louise Lorraine, Lillian Worth, and Frank Whitson. Note that this movie was a sequel to the very first Tarzan movie made in 1918, "Tarzan of the Apes", with Elmo Lincoln in the title role. This movie also starred Elmo Lincoln as Tarzan, and they are the only two Tarzan movies starring Lincoln. Original movie paper from either of these movies is EXTREMELY scarce! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this card had a small amount of its bottom border trimmed and measures 14" x 19 3/4". There is paper loss in the bottom right corner and in the left of the top border, and in the top right blank corner, and there were two pieces detached from the top left and lower right corners and those were re-attached with a piece of masking tape from the back. There are many water stains on the back of the card (more so around three sides and across the middle), but very few of the water stains are visible from the front except in the top play date area. While this wonderful window card has significant defects, it IS very "restorable", and since most of the defects are in the borders, the card will look great after expert professional restoration, and there would be little paint restoration in the image area. Note that we have sold a complete version of this window card in the past, and we can provide a high-quality scan for the restorer, in order to make sure they do a perfect job of recreating the missing bottom right corner. Condition: good. Learn More about condition grades
