eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 1b069 WOMAN'S A FOOL red 3sh '40s all-black musical comedy, wild artwork! Date Sold 2/4/2010Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Incomplete Three-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27 3/4" x 40") (Learn More) Woman's a Fool ("-To Think Her Man Is All Her Own"), the 1947 black African American romantic comedy ("A Short Feature Extravaganza"; "All colored cast") starring Ida Cox, Ardella, Jean La Rue, Alabama Blossom, Birdina Hackett, Billy Fuller, Red Calhoun and His Royal Swing Band, and the Famous Hollywood Jitterbugs If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that what we are selling is only ONE THIRD of a three-sheet poster! This poster originally had two more sections that had an image that appeared above the section we are selling. But it is likely that no one has a complete three-sheet from this title, and, very fortunately, this one-third of a poster works quite well as an independent poster (if not for the "in" at the top of the poster, it would appear to be a horizontal one-sheet!). Also note that this poster has been dry-mounted on to a heavy board backing, prior to being placed into a picture frame. Most collectors choose not to dry-mount their posters, because it means that the poster must always be sent flat, but I have seen many posters that were dry-mounted decades ago, and in no cases did the dry-mounting seem to hurt the poster. Plus, any talented restorer can reverse the dry-mounting process, removing the poster from the backing, and placing it on a linen backing (but this process is more expensive than linenbacking an unbacked poster). Note that the board that the poster was dry-mounted on is quite stiff, and this poster cannot be rolled, and will need to be sent in a large, flat package. Condition: poor. We are only selling one-third of the original three-sheet poster . Prior to being dry-mounted, the poster had creases, tears, and areas of paper loss on the foldlines. There was tape stain, tape stains, creases, smudges, tears, and paper loss around the edges of the poster. The person who dry-mounted the poster did not do any restoration to the poster.
