eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 7a200 GRADUATE 4x5 transparency 1967 iconic image of Dustin Hoffman & sexy leg, Anne Bancroft! Date Sold 6/10/2018Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Photographic Transparency (measures 4" x 5" [10 x 13 cm]) (Learn More) The Graduate, the classic 1968 Mike Nichols (winner of the Best Director Academy Award for this film) coming-of-age romantic melodrama ("'Benjamin do you find me undesirable?' 'Oh, no Mrs. Robinson. I think you're the most attractive of all my parents' friends.'"; "This is Benjamin. He's a little worried about his future."; "'Mrs. Robinson, you're trying to seduce me...aren't you?'"; "Screenplay by Calder Willingham and Buck Henry"; "Songs by Paul Simon performed by Simon and Garfunkel"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; about a college graduate who becomes involved with the wife of his father's business partner and then romances her daughter) starring Anne Bancroft (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; as Mrs. Robinson), Dustin Hoffman (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; as Benjamin Braddock), Katharine Ross (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film; as Elaine Robinson), William Daniels (as Mr. Braddock), Murray Hamilton (as Mr. Robinson), Elizabeth Wilson (as Mrs. Braddock), Buck Henry (who wrote the screenplay, as the "Room Clerk"), Brian Avery (as Carl), Norman Fell (as Mr. McCleery), and a young Richard Dreyfuss (in a bit part, but he does have two lines!) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that it has been established that the leg in this image (which is surely both the most famous single image from this movie and one of the most iconic photos in history) belongs to Linda Gray (who later went on to fame in TV's "Dallas"), and not Anne Bancroft. However, as it is clearly intended to be thought of as Bancroft's leg (Gray was an unbilled body double, or more accurately, "leg double"), we are referring to it as such. Note that this is a studio-issued transparency that is produced by the studio but is not the camera original. When a smaller format film was originally used, a larger copy transparency was often made by the studio so that retouching could be added and sent out or used for approved publication purposes. The transparency is in a plastic sleeve (but we removed it and scanned it, so that bidders could see just how high quality it is). It will be sent to the winner of the auction in the plastic sleeve. This is a very special auction of 444 extremely rare negatives and transparencies of various sizes. EVERY single one in this auction is either "studio issued" (meaning it was created by the studio and sent to theaters and movie outlets), OR it is a "camera original" (meaning it was the actual negative that was in the camera when the photographer took the picture). Every auction clearly identifies which they are, and there are no items being auctioned that are not either "studio issue" or "camera originals". We have divided them by type and size. Also note that every one of these 444 auctions have had their transparencies and/or negatives scanned expertly. This auction contains that scan with the "eMoviePoster.com" watermark over it. ONLY the winner of this auction will, on request, be sent UNWATERMARKED scan(s) of the items in this auction, which will both save them the time and expense of scanning them themselves, and also allow them to make high quality positive prints of the items they purchased. Condition: very good to fine. The transparency is in nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
