eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 3c189 TAKE THE MONEY & RUN 1sh R70s wacky Woody Allen mug shot in classic mockumentary! Date Sold 12/15/2016Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Undated (probably 1970s) Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Woody Allen's Take the Money and Run, the classic 1969 Woody Allen bank robbery mock-documentary romantic crime comedy ("Crime lives!") starring Woody Allen, Janet Margolin, Marcel Hillaire, Jacquelyn Hyde, Lonny Chapman, and narrated by Jackson Beck. Note that Woody Allen had performed stand-up comedy and had done writing for movies and TV, but it was not until 1966 when he bought the rights to an obscure Japanese movie and dubbed it with incorrect dialog and he was credited as a "director" on the movie, which was released as "What's Up Tiger Lily?". But it was with this movie that he directed his first real movie, and of course, that led to his legendary career that followed! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that it is our understanding that the "PG" rating did not begin until 1972, but the poster offered here is dated "1969" and has a "PG" rating! This could mean this poster is from a re-release or that the PG rating started in 1969 or 1970. Either way, please do not bid on this poster unless you can live with this uncertainty. Note that this is one of 188 folded one-sheets in this Part IV of eMoviePoster.com's December Major Auction that were consigned to us by legendary French dealer/collector Dominique Besson (we auctioned 993 of his folded one-sheets in Part I of this auction, and we auctioned his 113 unfolded one-sheets in Part III, and now we are auctioning his final 188 folded one-sheets in this Part IV). Dominique Besson started collecting movie posters in 1981, and became a dealer in French and European posters in 1994, and has remained as a top dealer ever since! But in addition, 30 years ago, Dominique began collecting U.S. one-sheets, first those with Saul Bass art, and then adding Alfred Hitchcock posters, then Humphrey Bogart, and he finally ended up collecting in an amazing total of 47 different categories, purchasing the posters from all over the world! Now the time has come to sell this wonderful collection, and Dominique has chosen eMoviePoster.com to do so, through our auctions! After Part IV closes, we will have auctioned all of this collection. Condition: good. There is light rippling and slight discoloration throughout the poster from exposure to moisture (more so in the left half of the poster.) Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this item prior to placing a bid. Learn More about condition grades
