Artist: Kazuhiko Sano
Important Added Info: Note that this poster has the title in silver letters (there are a few posters from this title with the title in white letters, and we are auctioning a printer's test version of one of those in a separate auction). This "silver title" style exists in two versions. One measures 27" x 41". The other is a printer's test poster (often referred to as a "printer's proof"), which has an extra 1" at left with color bars. Having that extra area makes it much more certain that this never made it past the proof stage. Most of the printer's test posters are blank on the back. However, sometimes when printer's test posters would be printed, they would print them on the back of other test posters (since they would never be distributed to theaters, and only were shown to people at the printer and at the studio). In the case of this particular poster, it has three smaller images on the back showing the proposed three-sheet, six-sheet, and 24-sheet, and note that the proposed posters have a purple background, while the printed posters have a blue background, like the one-sheet, which we know, because we have auctioned all three of those posters!), and this is the second example of this printer's test that we have auctioned with those three poster images on the back. The other Return of the Jedi printer's test we are auctioning in a separate auction is printed on the back of a poster for a 1983 re-release of the movie "Hercules in New York" starring Arnold Schwarzenegger (re-titled just "Hercules" for the re-release) and that one is the "white title" style.

Condition: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It has light creases scattered in various areas and there are some more visible creases in a few areas mostly at center. There are some light surface scuff marks and a few scratches in a few areas (more so at lower center to the left of the art of Fisher). The ultra-rare printer's test is otherwise in generally nice condition.
