The War of the Worlds is a science fiction (sci-fi) novel by English author H.G. Wells. Though it was first serialized in 1897 by magazines, the novel's first appearance in hardcover was in 1898. Written between 1895 and 1897, it is one of the earliest stories to detail a conflict between mankind and an extra-terrestrial race. Note that this novel has been adapted into an infamous radio play, movies, TV shows and comic books.
Important Added Info: Note that this softcover edition was published in 1938, right after Orson Welles' radio broadcast that panicked part of the United States (which is why the cover says "When they told it on the radio... it terrified the whole country"! Also note that we have pictured the front cover, the title page, and the interior page that shows the publishing information, and one or more interior 2-page spreads.
