A 1949 Re-release Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Follow the Boys, the 1944 A. Edward Sutherland World War II (WWII) Universal patriotic supporting-the-troops all-star musical comedy ("The Song-Studded, Star-Stunning Saga of America's show-world at war!"; "The story of the stars who Follow the Boys"; this had famous stars and bands performing to raise morale of our troops overseas during World War II, and it even included the real life Hollywood Victory Committee, which organized the stars' participation in USO shows) starring George Raft, Vera Zorina, Jeanette MacDonald, Orson Welles' Mercury Wonder Show (a magic act!), Marlene Dietrich, Dinah Shore, Donald O'Connor, Peggy Ryan, W.C. Fields, The Andrews Sisters (Laverne, Maxene, and Patty Andrews), Arthur Rubinstein, Carmen Amaya & Her Company, Sophie Tucker, Delta Rhythm Boys, Gautier's Bricklayers, Ted Lewis & His Band, Freddie Slack & His Orchestra, Charlie Spivak & His Orchestra, Louis Jourdan & His Orchestra, Grace McDonald, Charles Butterworth, Martha O'Driscoll, Charley Grapewin, Elizabeth Patterson, Max 'Slapsie Maxie' Rosenbloom, Regis Toomey, Edwin Stanley, Carl Vernell, Bill Wolfe, and Orson Welles NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that the original release one-sheets for this all-star Universal movie were disappointing. One of the styles does not show any images of the stars, and the other only shows a montage of tiny sepia headshots of all the stars. By the time the movie was re-released by Realart in 1949, the poster designer wisely showed only large images of Orson Welles, Marlene Dietrich, W.C. Fields, George Raft, and Vera Zorina, and put them in color as well! Condition: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some creases, tiny tears, and tiny areas of paper loss on parts of some foldlines. There were a few tears scattered in the image. There were pinholes and small tears around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
