He was typecast playing Asian villains in the 1910s and 1920s. He made a memorable return from a long partial break from films with his starring role in The Bridge On The River Kwai (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film). Some of his other movies include: Swiss Family Robinson, House of Bamboo, and The Begger Prince. He passed away in 1973 at the age of 84. Important Added Info: Note that this still measures 7 3/4" x 9 1/2" [20 x 24 cm], but it has not been trimmed. Condition: good to very good.
