An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm] Movie Still (Learn More)

The Three Passions, the 1928 (released in the U.S. in 1929) Rex Ingram English family relationship romantic melodrama (based on the novel by Cosmo Hamilton; about a man who starts out as a worker in a factory and ends up owning it, but his workers are treated terribly; he has a wife that cheats on him, but he has a son that he adores and wants to take over the factory; the son has a loving girlfriend, but when a factory worker is killed due to the poor working conditions, the son decides to become a priest to atone for his father's sins; his girlfriend tries to change his mind, but when she is almost raped, the son knocks out the would-be rapist) starring Alice Terry, Ivan Petrovich, Claire Eames, Leslie Faber, and Merle Oberon (17 years old and uncredited, in her very first movie!). Note that Harpo Marx and George Bernard Shaw were visiting the set, and according to Harpo, Rex Ingram convinced them to appear as extras in the movie! But Ingram went too far and shot a scene of them playing pool, and Harpo says that he made Ingram cut the scene from the movie, and according to people who have seen the movie, it is not in the movie (which is a shame!).
