Cool Burgess' Minstrels, the circa 1860s woodcut musical stage poster promoting a traveling minstrel show, featuring legendary 19th century banjo player Harry Causland ("The Musical Wonder"). The troupe seems to have formed in 1868 and performed in North America.

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. The poster had many creases and tiny areas of paper loss on parts of the folds, with some paper loss and tears in the right half of the middle fold. It had many pinholes and tears around the edges, with some tiny paper loss. It had staining in the title area, which was likely ink transfer. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was backed with no excess, and it "is what it is". It seems remarkable that this 150+ year old poster has survived at all, and it can be displayed and enjoyed as it is!
