An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Paperbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Flying Tigers, the 1942 David Miller World War II (WWII) military airplane aviation pilot dogfight action thriller ("Headed for the greatest entertainment ovation given a motion picture in years..."; "Strong brave men flying in the face of death that we may live"; "See these sky-devils revenge Pearl Harbor and strike terror to Tokyo"; "Original Story by Kenneth Gamet"; about the Flying Tigers, the remarkable American volunteer group which flew missions against the Japanese in China before America's entry into World War II) starring John Wayne, John Carroll, Anna Lee, Paul Kelly, Gordon Jones, Bill Shirley, Mae Clarke, Tom Neal, "and a cast of thousands" NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been paperbacked. This means the poster was backed onto a heavy paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, and window cards. The advantage of paperbacking a one-sheet is that it still feels very much like an unbacked poster, but the slight disadvantage is that it is more fragile than if it were linenbacked. Condition: very good. Prior to being paperbacked the poster was in very good condition; there was small paper loss in the right of the top blank border (just extending into the edge of the black image); and there was a 1" tear and a 3" tear near the top of the vertical foldline (in the solid black background); there were small holes at the crossfolds in creases along the foldlines; there were extra creases to the right of the vertical foldline between the middle and bottom crossfolds; there was small paper loss in the lower part of the left blank border and some creases, smudges and tiny tears around the edges of the poster; the above minor defects were well corrected during the paperbacking process. The person who did the restoration only restored the exact areas that needed restoration, so you can see traces of the restoration from close-up, but from any distance away, the poster looks quite nice, and it has had only a small amount of restoration!
