An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More) The White Sister, the 1923 Henry King silent romantic religious faith melodrama ("Lillian Gish! What a flood of pleasant memories flashes along at the mere mention of her name. You sympathized with her in 'The Birth of a Nation' suffered with her in 'Hearts of the World.' pitied her in 'Broken Blossoms' cried over her in 'Orphans of the Storm.' actually cheered her in 'Way Down East.' Now see her in Henry King's production of The White Sister"; "Based on the novel by F. Marion Crawford"; "From F. Marion Crawford's novel"; about a girl in love with a soldier, and when he dies in northern Africa, she becomes a nun, but then it turns out he didn't really die, and he wants her to leave the church to be with him, but she refuses) starring Lillian Gish, Ronald Colman (in his tenth movie, and one of his first major roles!), Gail Kane, J. Barney Sherry, and Charles Lane NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that first release movie posters from this movie are incredibly rare. We once auctioned a six-sheet (9 years ago for $2,767), and a three sheet (28 years ago for $8,250), and no other posters, until we were consigned this insert! Also note that this poster was folded across the middle at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Finally, note that because this insert was printed on a slightly heavier paper, it makes far more sense for it to be sent in a large flat package than rolled in a tube, because we are afraid that rolling it could cause damage to it, and we would hate for that to happen! We will only send it rolled in a tube if the buyer insists, and accepts full responsibility in case there is any damage to it. Condition: very good. The poster was folded across the middle at one time. It has "WED-THURS" written in grease pencil, in the bottom blank border. It has tiny paper loss in the bottom right blank corner, and tiny brown stains scattered in the bottom of the right blank border, with a few in the other blank borders. The image area of the poster is in really nice condition, and has bright colors, and the poster was never restored. Because the defects are primarily in the blank border, the poster can be framed and enjoyed exactly as it is, or certainly, slight restoration could be performed. Learn More about condition grades
