An Original Vintage Theatrical Spanish Movie Herald (measures 4 1/2" x 6 1/4" [11 x 16 cm]) (Learn More) Picnic, the 1956 Joshua Logan (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) romantic melodrama ("From the moment he hit town... She knew it was just a matter of time!"; "The famed Pulitzer Prize Play.... On the screen at last!"; "The Pulitzer Prize Play... Now On The Screen!"; "Based on the play 'Picnic' by William Inge", "Screen play by Daniel Taradash, prize winning screen writer of 'From Here to Eternity'"; "The Pulitzer Prize Play is now a prize picture in CinemaScope and in color by Technicolor"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; about a drifter coming into a small town to meet with an old frat buddy who also happens to be the son of the richest man in town) starring William Holden, Kim Novak (in her fifth credited movie role!), Betty Field, Susan Strasberg, Cliff Robertson, Rosalind Russell (billed as "co-starring Rosalind Russell as Rosemary"), and Arthur O'Connell (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we can't say whether this herald is from the first Spanish post-awards release or not. It doesn't have Columbia on it, but Columbia didn't have the best distribution in Europe. It DOES show Novak with long hair, and when the movie was re-released after Vertigo, the posters were changed so that she had short hair, which makes us think it IS from the first Spanish post-awards release (we have also seen a Spanish herald that is not in full-color where Novak also has long hair, but that one does not reference the Academy Awards the film won, so maybe that one is "pre-awards" and this one is "post-awards"). Note that when Spanish heralds have printing on the back, we picture both sides, but when they are blank on the back, we only picture the front. Condition: good. Learn More about condition grades
