In 1972, she starred in the adult film Deep Throat, which achieved unprecedented popularity among mainstream audiences. She later denounced her adult film career, saying she was coerced to perform, and became a spokeswoman for the anti-pornography movement. Some of her movies include: Deep Throat, Deep Throat Part II, and Linda Lovelace for President. She died in 2002 at the age of 53 from injuries sustained in a car accident.
