An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded German Movie Window Card (WC; measures 9 1/2" x 14 3/4" [24 x 37 cm]) (Learn More) Der Grune Domino (literally translates to "The Green Domino"), the 1935 Herbert Selpin German romantic melodrama (about a rich heiress who falls in love with an art critic after his wife is murdered) starring Brigitte Horney, Karl Ludwig Diehl, Alice Treff, Erika von Thellmann, and Theodor Loos. It appears this movie was never released in the U.S. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this German window card, which is a "country of origin" poster for this German movie! Of course, ANY German poster of any kind from before World War II is incredibly rare, because their paper shortages were even greater than those of other countries, and hardly any paper of any kind from before World War II survives (and in addition to shortages, items associated with the Nazi era were often destroyed for that reason). This is one of a remarkable group of 15 1930s German window cards we were consigned, which we are currently auctioning in 15 separate auctions. After these auctions have ended, it might be years before we even get one or two more of these. Finally, note that this German window card is printed on a heavy paper stock that cannot be rolled.
