Stop That Man, the 1928 Nat Ross silent romantic slapstick comedy ("It's a Universal"; "From the famous stage success by George V. Hobart"; a wacky story of a man who borrows his brother's policeman uniform to impress his girlfriend, but then he gets in trouble and his brother is blamed and his girlfriend leaves him, so he decides to commit suicide by hiring a friend to kill him for $10, but then his brother and girlfriend forgive him, but he has to figure out how to stop the friend from killing him!) starring Barbara Kent, Arthur Lake (later famous for playing Dagwood Bumstead in the "Blondie" series of movies), George Siegmann, Eddie Gribbon, and Joe Girard. Note that this plot of a man hiring someone to kill him and then changing his mind was likely old in 1928, and it has been used many, many times since. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
